HP OfficeJet H470 Mobile Printer Review
Hewlett-Packard recently released its Officejet H470 Series Mobile, updated line of portable printers for inkjet printers. Models range from $ 224 to $ 314, which is not cheap, considering most home inkjet printers costing less than $ 100. Print quality is also unsatisfactory, which was not unexpected, but nevertheless disappointing. We would be better to talk about H470wbt, the highest-end model in the series, but this new model is an impressive update – you’d better purchasing its previous incarnation, HP Deskjet 460c, at a discounted price.
Housing Officejet H470wbt almost identical to 460c, but this time HP went with a matte black finish, and not silver. Aesthetically, we really like the design H470wbt. The corners contoured and the flaps neatly in the body. When everything is closed, it looks very rugged – if Batman needed a mobile printer, his search ends here.

The printer has most of the necessary ports, like PictBridge USB, standard USB and SD / MiniSD / MMC slot, but no compact models older Flash port. This is not a big problem, since most digital point-and-shoot cameras use SD or Memory Stick media, but users with DSLRs that use CF cards should strive for a more specific photo-traveler, as HP Photosmart A826, which won win our Editors’ Choice last fall.
Officejet H470wbt compact and only slightly smaller than a typical desktop printer, measuring 3.25 inches, 13.4 inches wide by 6.45 inches. At 4.5 pounds, is portable enough to fit in your hand luggage or briefcase, but you do not want to wear it all day. The most expensive model in the series also includes a protective cover made of vinyl with cutouts for the various ports, but no handle or a place to store the cable. There are a total of three model series Officejet H470, and each price jump adds additional hardware and versatility. HP lowers the IR port with H470s, but if you absolutely travel without wires, you can also purchase 802.11 b / g adapter HP (since it is not included in the series). To satisfy this option, HP built a network switch on the rear of the device, which is useful for people who constantly travel between their home, office and remote networks.
top cover pops up in H470wbt, opening the paper. Like the 460c, the feeder can only take place 50 sheets of paper, but it is sufficient for printing in a pinch and still more than iP90v Canon Pixma, which may take place only 30 sheets. We would like to see a foldout corral arm to catch the prints as they fired at the car, but H470wbt retains its shallow outlet cover. We also encountered a similar problem with the paper that we had with the 460c – it was difficult raising a single sheet of 4×6-inch photo paper when a larger stack was loaded into the tray. The mechanism of the hand struggled to recognize the smaller size and tried to “lift” a large 8×10-inch – after several attempts, he gave up and the red LED lit on the control panel. The problem disappeared when we cut the stack in half.

H470wbt uses two cartridges, one for black ink and another tri-color cartridge. HP offers one compatible black inkjet cartridge, which reportedly produce 500 prints for $ 19.99, on average 3.9 cents per page. Color cartridge comes in regular (330 copies) and high power (600 copies) for $ 24.99 and $ 34.99, on average, 7.5 cents, or 5.8 cents per page, respectively. These costs are within the average price and yield for desktop inkjet printers. Nevertheless, we want to HP ink-saving feature as iP90v Canon Pixma, which gives you three options for printing either straight black, except black regime, or composite black.
