Inkjet multifunction sounds like an expensive equipment, but these days, you can take one home for a measly $ 100. Lexmark X5470 is one such printer, combining printer, scanner, fax, copier, and one useful device. It lacks a built-in networking, which means that it is better suited for a home office user, and include tutorial will guide you through the network to a printer via a print server. While the printer is fast for most tasks (except for copying), a compromise was of poor quality printing. You can get a much better print quality with a similarly priced all-in-one, such as the Canon Pixma MP460 (which costs about $ 30 more) or the Canon Pixma MP180, although neither Pixma offers fax capability.

Design
Lexmark X5470 in glossy white, gray, silver and body square, and perhaps a little big for the house rich, but light and easy to maneuver. Scanner cover is built into the automatic document feeder, which can contain up to 10 pages for batching scanning or copying. The flatbed scanner can hold up to A4 page in size, but you can scan legal documents, using the size of ADF.
X5470 paper on the parameters are key: login support protrudes from the back and can store up to 100 sheets of plain paper. Output tray sticks out from the front of the base and may be extended to corral long sheets of paper. For printing photos without a PC, X5470 offers a PictBridge port and memory card slots that accept most common memory cards, although some will require an adapter.
The control panel is mounted on a silver shelf on the front of the printer. Four buttons let you switch between copy, scan, fax, and photo-printing modes. Changing the size and lighter / darker buttons allow you to quickly make a simple adjustment. The menu button brings up a menu of the selected task in two lines of text LCD (backlit). To navigate the menus, you have two buttons with arrows and Select, Back and Cancel buttons. Alphanumeric keyboard, Pause / Repeat button, and click the Phone Book allows you to send faxes. And rounding out the control panel, two buttons start – one in color and black only. We like that the Pixma MP460 and the Brother MFC-440cn a proposal color LCD for previewing photos. Brother MFC-440cn also comes with a large ADF and built-in networking, though it costs $ 50 more.
X5470 has two ink-tank system: one color (CMY) and one black. Six color printing photos, you can replace the black tank with an optional three-color photo ink tank. Regular capacity black tanks cost $ 20 to replace, and the tricolor tanks cost $ 22. Powerful version costs $ 25 and $ 30 respectively. If you opt for a tank color photo, it will set you back $ 25.
